Vikram Sehgal (Arjun Rampal) is a lawyer. His Father (Suresh Oberoi) is a multimillionare and money is everything for him. Vikram wants to stand on his feet without the help of his father, that is why he joins a big lawyer (Kiran Kumar) as an assistant. Vikram has sympathy towards the poor, but his Boss does not. Due to this, he is unable to help a poor woman, whose son was wrongly accused. Her son is convicted and she commits suicide. This incident changes the life of Vikram and he decides to start an organization (Nyay Darshan) where poor people, whose relatives are wrongly accused and don't have money for the court cases would get lawyers for free.
Vikram has two pets, a horse and a dog. Whenever he rides his horse in a race course, a girl Ritika ( Manisha Koirala) watches her. She falls in love with him and one day tells Vikram about her love for him, but Vikram ignores her. But after some time, Vikram also starts loving her. Ritika assures Vikram to stand shoulder to shoulder with him in his project (Nyay Darshan). Vikram asks his father for money, but he refuses to lend him. He asks lawyers to help him, but they also are not prepared without money. He becomes very depressed and frustrated. When all the doors are closed for him, he decides for a bank robbery. Ritika is ready to help him in this. Both of them decide that if anyone of them betrays the other, then that person should be prepared to be killed by the other in any field of life.
But one night, Ritika has a nightmare in which she sees Vikram being shot dead after looting the bank. She comes to Vikram and tells her about the dream and urges him to cancel the plan. Vikram gets angry with her and reminds her about the promise they made and tells her about the punishment of the betrayal. The other day when Vikram goes to the bank to accomplish his plan, he sees a heavy security around the bank. He comes to know that somebody has informed the police of the expected robbery. He is stunned and is confident that the informer is Ritika. He kills Ritika for her betrayal and police arrests Vikram .
Vikram faces the charges in the court. He proves himself not guilty in the court, as there were no eyewitnesses. After he is released, he comes to know that the informer was not Ritika but her friend who disliked Vikram from the beginning. He becomes mad and plans to make Ritika's dream come true. He goes to the bank again with an empty gun and there he is shot dead.
