A romantic drama about the trials and tribulations of two pairs of young lovers, Ashutosh (Jackie Shroff) and Shivangi (Madhuri Dixit) are mature loves who have been separated by Ashutosh's millionaire father Arjun Singh (Manohar Singh). Mannu (Vivek Mushran) and Radha (Pooja Bhatt) are two immature teenagers - dreamy and happy-go-lucky who decide not to bow down to their parents' false pride. The young pair decide to elope and make money by hook or crook. In the process they meet Ashutosh - now separated from his beloved Shivangi. Natwarlal (Prem Chopra) an arch enemy of Arjun Singh follows this young couple like a crooked shadow and advises them to kidnap Ashutosh for ransom. Ashutosh admires the teenagers' deep love and decides to go along with them.
