' Chota Chetan', 'Shiva Ka Insaaf', 'Chota Jadugar ' and now ' Aabra Ka Daabra - The School Of Magic '! Producer-Director Dheeraj Kumar brings to Bollywood another 3D film, this time with an enhanced technology 3D PLUS. In making for quite some time, though the shooting was wrapped up months back, the postproduction took its bit (that is normal for any 3 dimensional movie). Scheduled to release this winter, this adventure movie, that seems to be an inspiration from Harry Potter series, stars a horde of child artistes along with Anupam Kher, Satish Kaushik, Johney Lever and Archana Puran Singh in supporting roles. While ' Chota Chetan ' and ' Chota Jadugar ' had hardly any music to boast about, AKD has a full fledged musical score by Himesh Reshammiya (that's three for him in as many weeks after ' Dil Maange More ' and ' Vaada ') with lyrics by Sameer.

Prabhu Deva makes his third guest appearance in a Hindi movie after ' Kay Sera Sera ' (Pukar) and ' Dumroo Baaje ' (Shakti) with ' Shiv Om '. Don't mistake it for a ' bhakti bhawna se bharpoor ' bhajan. Instead it is a dance number for kids that does praise Lord Shiva but in a more modern way with a grand orchestra. Sung by Shaan with 'shloka' inputs by Dheeraj Kumar, it is good mainly for it's lavish choreography and the big screen 3D effect.

First children's song in the album comes as ' Chutkan Gang Ka Kya Kehna '. Udit Narayan shows the same enthusiasm in singing this number as he would for any other romantic song that he sings for a conventional Bollywood movie. Child artistes sing the majority part of the number and are impressive for the genre of this song. A fun song about the clash of two rival children gangs, it is enjoyable and should appeal immensely to the age group of 5-15, mainly due to its lyrics and a fast paced treatment. This number could be seen humming by children after they come out of the theatre!

We hear Himesh Reshammiya as we know him from his jazzy numbers in ' Love Hoya '. First track in the album that is not purely a children song and could fit in the routine song'n'dance Hindi movie, it is a youthful foot tapping love number by KK and Hema Sardesai that is not the song of the year but enjoyable nevertheless. And yes! This is the first number in the album where we hear Sameer the way we know him!

At this stage composer Raju Rao comes with an ' Aabra Ka Daabra-instrumental ' that is essentially built around the song ' Shiv Om '. He also does the ' Theme music ' that reminds of the background score of Harry Potter movies and is extremely impressive. Tempo of the orchestra is build up very nicely and it should be a very good fit in the movie's narrative.

Stamp of Himesh Reshammiya is evident in another children's song ' Tara Ram Pam ' sung by Kunal Ganjawala and a few children. A situational song, it is a 'feel good' happy-go-lucky song that is just about ordinary and lightens up mainly when Kunal appears in the number. Anuradha Sriram sings the 'item number' (now this should be interesting to see in the movie) ' Didave ' that is more rhythmic than racy or melodious. This track too is average and doesn't carry much steam to be amongst the popularity charts.

The album ends with first romantic duet of the movie - ' Zindagi Zindagi ' sung by the most conventional pairing in the album - Kumar Sanu and Alka Yagnik. A song where the couple in love believe that 'life is life only when your loved one is around', it has good lyrics by Sameer and some routine but impressive melody by Himesh. OK! So even this number doesn't really make you swoon and moony eyed in love, but still works for a movie of this genre.

As said earlier, no 3D movie before AKD ever had a complete music album devoted to it. For this matter, with an exception of ‘ Makdee ' and to an extent ' Jajantaram Mamantaram ', there hardly have been Hindi movies for children that had a dedicated music score. But kudos to Dheeraj Kumar for hiring the services of an A-class composer Himesh Reshammiya and promoting the music. Though the music is average, it is still good enough to support something visually in a movie of this genre!
