78 of 83 people found this review helpful On screen, SRK shows off his brilliantly-PRed six pack and shirtless avatar, while behind the scenes Sukhwinder Singh brings the studio down with his red-hot rendition of Dard-e-Disco. Despite its snazzy middle eastern influences, Vishal-Shekhar maintain a moderate percussion, leaving ample breathing space for the singer to spread his vocal wings...

13 of 18 people found this review helpful A soft, melodious, romantic number. Interesting lyrics. "Dil ko banade jo patang saasen yeh teri woh hawayen hain". For the first time, I see heart compared to a fly and breath to wind. Interesting! 'Chandni teri roshani ka halka sa saaya hai' - I loved this line. Javed Akhtar has given us a romantic song which is as fresh as a flower. KK sounds strained and nasal in some places.

17 of 19 people found this review helpful Main Agar Kahoon(Sonu Nigam, Shreya Ghoshal), sadly does not fall in the festivities. Sappily sung by the saccharine king, Sonu Nigam, reminds you of those old music videos on TV, the new year ones. I would rather give it a skip. It might work later considering what happened in the case of other songs could happen here as well, but as of now, it sucks, to put it simply.

5 of 6 people found this review helpful Credit must go to Farah Khan who mixes the commercial elements of the movie with an inherent class which she wanted to lay out in the soundtrack for Om Shanti Om. This is why a fine balancing act is done in the album with hardcore massy tracks like 'Deewangi Deewangi' [best of the lot], 'Dhoom Taana' and 'Dard-E-Disco' presented along with touching tracks like 'Aankhon Mein Teri', 'Main Agar Kahoon' and 'Jag Soona Soona Lage'. And then there is always a 'Dastaan-E-Om Shanti Om' to bring the nostalgia of 'Ek Haseena Thi' [Karz'].

With songs by current top singers of Bollywood including KK, Sukhwinder Singh, Shaan, Udit Narayan, Shreya Ghosal, Sunidhi Chauhan, Sonu Nigam, Abhijeet and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Vishal Shekhar have done a tremendous job...

4 of 8 people found this review helpful Dard-E-Disco is reminiscent of old-school songs, but mixed with an Arabic flavor. It has a sort of addictive quality, owed to the infectious beats especially in the beginning. The lyrics, however, are a tad odd and the English bits do seem out of place in such a number, but it isn't bad after a few spins...

4 of 5 people found this review helpful Flash-forward to 2007 and Vishal-Shekhar stop on a dime to create a heart-wrenching composition featuring one of the greatest voices today – Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. The piece under the microscope is Jag Soona Soona Lage. Although V-S use one steadily arranged rhythm throughout the piece, it's done with intent, purpose, and care...

6 of 7 people found this review helpful Farah Khan's 35-crore bonanza, 'Om Shanti Om', based mainly in the psychedelic 70s, kick starts with the absolutely mesmerizing, petal-soft, romantic track 'Ajab Si'. Right from the first notes, the soft beats and caressing guitar strings set just the right pace for K. K. to take over...

5 of 6 people found this review helpful "Dard-e-Disco", a trendy cousin of "Dard-e-Dil" (KARZ) is "six-pack-abs” SRK number that ushers intrinsic Persian-Arabian traditional flair in its prelude as it flourishes forward with disco-thumping frothy flavors. Sukhwinder Singh along with Farah Khan pioneered "Sufi" elements in filmdom with "Chayya Chayya" (DIL SE) and this time there's high proclivity towards Arabic rhythmic arrangements with cyclical disco-thumping impacts.

4 of 5 people found this review helpful The inimitable combination of Farah Khan and Shah Rukh Khan comes together after 'Main Hoon Na' for this Diwali release 'Om Shanti Om'. Hot star cast of Shah Rukh Khan and debutante Deepika Padukone alongwith Shreyas Talpade, and a gang of Bollywood big wigs makes the fare all the more interesting. Veteran Javed Akhtar pens words to the tunes of Vishal-Shekhar that do the most of the talking...

4 of 5 people found this review helpful "Deewangi deewangi" boasts of a gang of singers including Shaan, Rahul Saxena, Shreya Ghoshal, Sunidhi Chauhan and Udit Narayan, some of the best of the lot. In the song, music from the yesteryears has been fused with contemporary tones. Javed Akhtar's lyrics add to the journey into the past.
