Bachchan jo bhi kahey… Click here to add this article to My Clips

By IndiaFM News Bureau, September 21, 2005 - 05:30 IST

When Amitabh Bachchan puts in a word of shabashi, you know it isn’t without reason. Talented musician Shankar Mahadevan felt the same when Amitabh called him after the screening of Kuch Na Kaho to tell him that he loved the song ‘Baat meri suniye toh zara’. “That meant such a lot to me” remarks Shankar.

“When you have a person like Mr.Bachchan call you and tell you that he appreciates your work, it is a huge high. I have always looked upto him and regard him as a man of high intelligence” says the Breathless singer.

“Incidentally, I too love the song, so does Aishwarya who calls it a modern-qawwalli” he smiles. But his recent qawwalli ‘Kajra re’ has simply swept the nation altogether! “That’s right, I am stunned with the response that the song has generated, feels wonderful. What makes me happier is that the success has reaffirmed by belief that the taste of this generation hasn’t eroded one-bit, they know the good from the bad” he points out.

And their latest work is going to be Dil Jo Bhi Kahey starring Br.Bachchan and Karan Sharma. “And what gladdens me is that Bachchan once again dances to this fun track, ‘Mere munna zara suna’ You should watch him move, simply fabulous and what’s more he loves it too!”
